Man to stand trial in Danielle Stislicki’s murder appearing in court -- What to know

Danielle Stislicki, 28, disappeared over eight years ago in Oakland County.

Stislicki walked out of her office in Southfield on Dec. 2, 2016, and was never seen again. Her body has never been found. Floyd Galloway, a security guard who worked in her office, was charged with her murder.

According to prosecutors, Galloway was known to seek out or flirt with Stislicki, and had previously sent her flowers. Galloway told police he had worked until 11 p.m. that night. Investigators later learned that Galloway did not work and had called off for a “doctor appointment.”

These 6 Michigan cities are among the best places to live in the US, new ranking shows

U.S News & World Report released its rankings of the top 250 places to live in the country, and several Michigan cities earned spots on the list.

More than 850 cities in the U.S. were evaluated to see how they meet living expectations, using several factors, including the job market, quality of life, desirability, and public safety, to determine the top 250.

Fisherman discovers 100-year-old shipwreck in Lake Michigan

A Wisconsin angler recently discovered a historic shipwreck in Lake Michigan while he was out fishing on a foggy day, historians said.

The shipwreck, which historians say is believed to be the J.C. Ames, was located off the coast of Manitowoc. The Wisconsin Historical Society reported the finding in a release on May 16, 2025.

‘We are trapped‘: Stalled trains, closed bridge leave St. Clair County residents isolated

Residents of a Kimball Township neighborhood near Port Huron say they’re facing daily isolation as stalled trains and bridge construction leave them with no reliable exit route from their homes.

The situation stems from an ongoing $2.1 million Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) project to improve the Allen Road bridge over Interstate 69.

While the construction aims to provide a smoother, safer driving surface upon completion in July, it has created immediate challenges for local residents.

Weather: Rain showers continue for Metro Detroit; drier weather moves in for the holiday weekend

After a little bit of sunshine on Tuesday, the rain showers moved into the region on Tuesday afternoon and into Tuesday evening, and we will keep the wet weather into the forecast at least for the next few days.

Expect scattered rain showers on and off throughout the day on Wednesday, the chilly temperatures will also stick around the forecast. High temperatures heading for the middle 50s by Wednesday afternoon.
