ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – A Waterford man has been arrested in connection with an alleged sextortion case that ended in a sexual and physical assault.
Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard said the man, Muhammad Uffan Alam Khan, was threatening to post explicit pictures of his ex-girlfriend if she didn’t meet up with him.
According to the sheriff, the 20-year-old female met up with Khan on April 1 in Auburn Hills.
“When she met with him, she got in the car to talk about that to try and convince him not to do it, and he quickly drove away with her in the car,” Bouchard said.
Khan allegedly drove them to a movie theatre parking lot in Rochester Hills.
“She attempted to get out of the car, he locked her in (and) punched her in the face and then both physically and sexually assaulted her,” Bouchard said.
The victim was able to escape and call 911.
Khan was arrested that night and faces several charges, including criminal sexual conduct 1st degree, assault by strangulation, and witness intimidation/bribery/interference.
Police said that after Khan was arrested, he and his family attempted to contact the victim in an attempt to have them drop the charges.
Khan’s bond has been revoked.
Bouchard said that, should anyone find themselves in a sextortion situation, get police involved right away.
“Call us, we will very much be on your side,” Bouchard said. “We’ve assumed the identity of victims in the past (and) communicated with the perpetrator and, if necessary, tracked them down if they are unknown, and if they’re known, we go get them.”
