DETROIT – A Detroit teen was arrested and charged in connection with the carjacking and robbery at gunpoint of a Warren woman.
On May 7 at around 3:30 p.m., a 47-year-old Warren woman was giving food to dogs in the 17400 block of Charest in Detroit when 17-year-old Dwayne Noah Alexander-Purdue allegedly approached her and robbed her at gunpoint. He then drove away in the woman’s car.

Alexander-Purdue was arrested later the same day.
The 17-year-old was charged with armed robbery, carjacking, unlawfully driving away from an automobile, receiving and concealing a stolen motor vehicle, resisting and obstructing a police officer, carrying a concealed weapon and three counts of felony firearm.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said Alexander-Purdue was charged as an adult.
“The victim in this case was providing an all too necessary service that is sorely needed in the City of Detroit. The defendant’s alleged actions in this case were the opposite of altruistic-they were predatory, violent, unacceptable, and criminal,” said Worthy.
He was arraigned on May 14, 2025.
