Michigan museum ranks among best in US for car enthusiasts

Henry Ford Museum among top attractions for 2025

DEARBORN, Mich. – A Metro Detroit museum recently ranked as one of the best attractions in the country for car enthusiasts.

The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation was named on the 2025 USA Today 10Best list for “Best Attractions for Car Lovers.”

Here are the museums that were named on this year’s list:

  1. Savoy Automobile Museum: Cartersville, Georgia
  2. National Corvette Museum: Bowling Green, Kentucky
  3. Revs Institute: Naples, Florida
  4. America’s Transportation Experience/AACA Museum: Hershey, Pennsylvania
  5. National Automobile Museum: Reno, Nevada
  6. Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
  7. Museum of American Speed: Lincoln, Nebraska
  8. The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation: Dearborn, Michigan
  9. Peterson Automotive Museum: Los Angeles, California
  10. America’s Car Museum: Tacoma, Washington

The attractions were nominated by an expert panel and then voted on by USA Today readers.

The Henry Ford Museum, which is located at 20900 Oakwood Boulevard, was also named on the list in 2024.

The museum’s “Driving America” exhibit showcases a variety of vehicles throughout history, while the “Driven to Win: Racing in America” exhibit features racecars, along with a multi-sensory theater, racing simulators and more.

“Started by one of the pioneers of the U.S. automotive industry, the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation showcases the innovation and ingenuity that went into creating the automobiles of the past,” USA Today editors said. “However, it doesn’t stop there; exhibits also look at innovations in flight, railroads, and agriculture.”

Greenfield Village, which is a separate attraction located on the same property as the museum, also has a variety of car-related activities. Visitors can catch a Model T ride and ride a train pulled by a historic steam or diesel locomotive. You can also see historic cars at the attraction’s Old Car Festival and Motor Muster events.
