An Oakland County man is expected to be sentenced Friday for the kidnapping and assault of a 9-year-old girl.
According to authorities, Aaron Deneal McDonald, from Oak Park, kidnapped a 9-year-old girl near the intersection of Eight Mile Road and Grand River Avenue in October 2021, and then sexually assaulted her at a home on Detroit’s west side.
The young girl escaped the house after he fell asleep. She was only wearing a blanket.
McDonald had a previous conviction for sexual violence against a minor and was out on parole at the time of the 2021 assault. He was arrested days later and was charged with one count of kidnapping, three counts of sexual conduct with a minor, one count of strangulation and one count of torture.
On March 28, 2025, McDonald pleaded no contest to all charges. He is expected to be sentenced on May 2.
