‘I’m an old lady’: 95-year-old Redford woman fights back after being scammed by lawn crew

REDFORD, Mich. – A 95-year-old Redford woman called Help Me Hank after she paid a lawn crew $1,000 and received little more than a big mess.

Local 4 went to work and helped her get a portion of the money back, allowing the work to be done properly once and for all.

Ms. Buela sent us a message on Thursday (May 15) morning, saying, “I have a problem with someone who was doing work for me. They took the money and didn’t finish the job. I’m an old lady. I live alone. I’m 95 years old, and he won’t call or anything. They made a big mess.”

Buela paid a husband-and-wife landscaping team $1,000 to mulch, trim, and spruce up her home for spring, but it doesn’t look very good.

The good news was the landscapers agreed to return a portion of the money and sent us a video as they dropped off the cash as Buela deserved better.
